Even though Chris & Helen Ducker have moved back to the UK, the work in Razesi, Moldova is continuing and going from strength to strength. Colea is carrying on the youthwork that was started at the Community Centre in Razesi. Chris & a team have just returned from Poganesti where Link to Hope has funded the transformation of some disused rooms into what they hope will be a Community Centre for the village. The funds have been raised by the 10 people taking part in the Rarau Mountain Challenge. The trek isn't till June however early sponsorship money had meant the project could get underway sooner.
This is what it looked like before the team flew out there:-
Here are the latest updates:-
Andy Ducker says "Hi Lisa, day 1 we have cleaned, filled holes and sealed the walls of this room that will be an after school club for Poganesti village children. Tomorrow we will start painting while the new ceiling cladding is put up by 2 of our Christian brothers. We are me, my son Chris and 2 students Andy and Kelsey"
"Days 2 and 3 have seen two coats of paint applied and the new ceiling start to go up. Outside the concrete base of a new fence is setting so the mixer has been loaded for transport! The last jobs will be to lay flooring and add skirting and coving.
"Last morning on the After School Club project. Final paint touch up. Thanks for your prayers, we are all well and fly back Saturday"
Huge congratulations to them as well. We look forward to visiting the project in June along with the trekkers who have already raised funds to get it up and running.
