Worthing born John joined Link to Hope as a volunteer over 20 years ago after careers in the British Army and HMRC. Having been to Eastern Europe a number of times, John has seen at first hand the desperate conditions that so many people have to endure. His passion for the work of Link to Hope is in the way that it works alongside often marginalised people, meets them where they are without judgement and embraces them with God’s love and brings hope for the future.
John looks forward every year to November when as the Shoebox Logistics Manger he is responsible for arranging the collection of over 40,000 boxes from around the U.K. and bringing them either to Worthing or to our new super hubs all within 2 weeks. He loves going out on the road meeting supporters (and quite often enjoying their hospitality)
John is blessed with a large family who all live locally, of 4 daughters, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In his spare time(when he gets any!) John likes nothing more than putting his boots on and hiking across the South Downs whatever the weather. He is also involved in social/community work with his church,St Michaels in Worthing.
