Shoeboxes to Soup
Here is a story of how a shoebox transformed into a warm jar of soup. Costel was giving out shoeboxes and came across a family with 6 children. Costel says “It is freezing outside, the water has frozen, and these children are walking barefoot and hungry. It is cold in the house and we found another 3-month-old child crying, but he is crying from hunger. When Rodica told the mother to give him some milk she said there was no money to buy milk. We do not know how these children eat, but there is no joy in the house. When I gave them a jar of honey, they opened it and put their fingers in it. On the table was a pig’s head, probably donated by a neighbour – that was all. Everything I offered them, especially the shoebox, was a dream, a real luxury for them”

Costel was able to go back and sent us an update “I visited again the family with the 6 children, whose infant child, when I visited them for Christmas, I found crying from hunger. In addition to basic food, including much-needed milk, I also brought them a jar of hot soup. In the room where the family lives, being cold, the children warmed their little hands with the pot of boiled soup. Thank you very much! God bless you!

Thank you everyone that sends Link to Hope shoeboxes and for the £3 donation put on every box.
