The Future Changed Project is based in Iasi, Romania and the shanty town it works in is ‘Dallas’  An impoverished area, Link to Hope has worked with this community since the very beginning.  People afraid of authority, unregistered, working in the black market who can barely make ends meet, are supported by our Future Change Project.  Starting as the Little Rainbows kindergarten for 4-7 years old it has now evolved into a Homework club, a Parents School and a Social Work programme.  The poorest families in the community are identified and those that are keen to work with us are helped and supported with education, social support, house rebuilding and literacy as well as many others things.

Historically people have been wary of authority and have remained insulated within their communities. The long shadow of communism still remains in the heart and memories of many, who have spent their lives avoiding authority at all costs. ‘Dallas’ where Future Changes is based is a piece of land originally populated by families who lost their government houses when Causcecue fell.  Originally an area of extreme poverty, some families have support from abroad and have been able to build better houses and develop lives.  Future Changed works with those families who literally have no support and bring their children up in poverty stricken circumstances with no hope of escaping from it.

Link to Hope employs three teachers and a social worker.  We also rent a house on the outskirts of ‘Dallas’ Shanty Town with all the associated costs of heating, lighting, water, insurances, repairs etc.  There are also the costs of books, stationery as well as equipment.  Our social work also regularly visits the families and helps with building costs, medicine, food, hygiene items as well as helps them with bills and general survival.

We ask people to sponsor the Future Changed project starting from £10 a month.  If you are able to give more then that would be great.  Your funds are sent straight to the Future Changed to help with the costs of keeping this fantastic and deeply important project running.

This is Link to Hopes most expensive project to support.  It is also our most important.  Hundreds or not thousands of childrens lives over the years have been transformed by being part of firstly the kindergarten from 4-7 and then the Homework Club after that.  Parents who never paid any attention to their children are not learning to be better parents and teaching on relationships, domestic abuse, alcoholism and bringing up your children in a positive environment is having a profound effect.  We are also able to offer literacy lessons to those parents who want to learn to read and write.  We have gradually developed these programmes over a number of years as we have seen the need.  We need people to work with us and that is where your financial support is vital.
