From more then 30 years the ministry in Cluj has been deeply committed to serving the most vulnerable members of our community: the elderly, widows, children, and individuals who are often neglected or marginalized. Recognizing the diverse needs and unique challenges faced by these groups in each month, Patricia, a social worker, supported by Pastor Cornel, is committed to continuing this work and to developing a range of programs designed to offer support, encouragement, and practical assistance.

Latest Update - July 2025

Patricia, the Social Worker in Cluj, sent a report providing an overview of the initiatives that have been developed in the area, the impact they have made and the vision guiding the ongoing mission.

Patricia and Cornel passed a message to Link to Hope supporters. 'Thanks to the fact that you support this mission, every month Patricia manages to reach these places to resolve and mediate the situation. We thank you on behalf of dozens of people, women, adults, widows or young people and children for all the ways in which you are part of this. Without you none of this would be possible. May God reward you and bless you abundantly. With appreciation and gratitude.'

Supporting the elderly

The elderly hold wisdom and experience that enrich our communities, yet many face loneliness, illness, and neglect. Patricia is dedicated to helping those left alone and in need, like Miruna—an 84-year-old woman who never married and suffered abuse and exploitation throughout her life. Frail from years of untreated illness, Miruna’s body is twisted by rheumatism and brittle bone disease, and dementia clouds her mind. After tireless efforts, countless forms, and many appeals, Patricia’s team rescued her from a decaying hut and placed her in a safe, caring home where she now receives dignity, compassion, and the attention she deserves. Even though she has no pension and no monthly income, we offer her the things she needs, counseling and support at every visit. And thanks to the financial support you provide to our mission, Patricia can do this too.

Children & Education programmes

So many families around us no longer have the resources to send their children to school, resulting in them dropping out of school and very often lacking even the most basic knowledge about life, personal hygiene, and how to behave in society in general.

Through regular meetings with them held near their homes, these children, forgotten by the system, marginalized and abandoned, receive an education, hygiene lessons, Bible lessons and advice and guidance to help them a little in life.

Weekly Fellowship Meetings

Every week we organise fellowship meetings where seniors can gather for socialization, prayer, and mutual encouragement. These meetings often include guest speakers, music, games, and opportunities for sharing life stories. The fellowship offers not only material support but also both emotional and spiritual support, combating loneliness and building a sense of belonging.

Health & Wellness Outreach - in partnership with local healthcare professionals, we provide free health screenings, basic medical check-ups, and educational seminars on nutrition and healthy aging. Volunteers assist with transportation to medical appointments and help coordinate medication management for those in need.

Home Visitation Programme - recognizing that some seniors are homebound, our team conducts regular visits to provide companionship, deliver groceries, and assist with household tasks. This program ensures that the elderly remain connected to the community and receive the care they deserve.
