Bringing Hope Home – Inn of Love 2, Moldova

Our Inn of Love 2 project continued to serve some of the most vulnerable elderly people in the village of Pervomaiscoe, Moldova. This

 initiative, supported by Link to Hope, delivers not only hot meals but also compassion, connection, and hope to elderly individuals who are often completely alone. Every meal delivered is a reminder that they are not forgotten.

Many of the elderly supported through this project live alone, some recently widowed, some with disabled spouses, and most facing extreme isolation. Social workers visit them regularly, bringing hot lunches and the warmth of human connection. People like Maria Jalba, who recently lost her husband, express deep gratitude: “Thank you for coming and visiting me, for talking to me. May God bless you so that we, the elders of Moldova, feel the warmth of our souls.”

Take Magdalena. She is an old woman who lives alone. All her life she has worked at the hospital, now no one even comes to greet her. She always cries and tells us that she helped many people but now she is left alone. Thank you for coming to visit me with this hot and tasty lunch. To those who give money for this work, may God reward your kindness and add where it has decreased. Thank you very much.

Others, like Olga Apostol who cares for her disabled husband, and Magdalena Take, a former nurse now left alone, greet the team with tears of joy and words of thanks. Each story reflects how vital this work is—not just for physical nourishment, but for emotional and spiritual care.

“We’re not just feeding people,” said one of the local pastors. “We’re reminding them they are seen, loved, and remembered.” Every delivery sparks connection—whether it’s sharing a story, listening to worries, or simply sitting together for a few minutes. Many beneficiaries say the visits are the highlight of their week.

Thanks to your generous donations, we’ve been able to support dozens of elderly individuals this month, providing both meals and human warmth. The gratitude they express is overwhelming: “May God reward you for your kindness… You are like a ray of sunshine for the old people of Moldova.” To our supporters, know that your kindness is truly life-changing. As the team said in their report: “When we go to them and see tears of joy in their eyes, it gives us strength to continue.”
