Transforming lives through simple gestures

This story highlights the stark reality faced by many families in our community, families who are struggling just to survive. Yesterday, Slavic our project manager visited a family in Dancu and this is what he saw.

“Yesterday I visited one of the most impoverished families I’ve encountered. The family includes a bedridden grandmother, her daughter and granddaughter, and her son, daughter-in-law, and their two young daughters, aged 7 and 9. Three years ago, a devastating fire took everything from them. Despite the overwhelming challenges they’ve faced, thanks to the support of generous donors like you, we’ve been able to provide them with crucial help, including much-needed clothing in their darkest times.

During my visit, I was deeply moved when one of the little girls—who is usually very shy—ran up to me and gave me a hug. It was a small, yet incredibly powerful gesture, reminding me of how essential it is to show love and care to those who are hurting. On a recent visit, I noticed they had no table where they could eat or do their homework. We were able to supply a simple table and chairs, something most of us take for granted, which made a world of difference to them.

This is the heart of what we do—helping families who are living in extreme poverty, bringing light into their darkest days. It’s through your donations, your prayers, and your actions that we’re able to make a difference in their lives. As 1 John 3:18 says, “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
